Wrapping up 2022

Happy Holidays

Hello and thank you for visiting my website,

This has been a challenging year for all of us as we transitioned back into the world after the Pandemic. I know this personally as I have transitioned from watercolor painting to oil painting and it has been a wonderful experience. I have used a variety of mediums ever since I applied and was accepted to an art program at a high school in New York City, then as an art minor in college, and especially during the 7 years I taught art. The one medium I always avoided was oils. I think I was afraid that I would get them on my clothes, or that they would take too long to dry, but mostly it was the thought that they would be very messy. In 2019 I began using water soluble oils but I just didn’t like them. I finally had the nerve to dive in and start oil painting.

My mentor, Mike Wise, encouraged me to make the transition. It took months for me to feel comfortable but then it happened. I just fell in love with oil paints and now I have to force myself not to paint in my studio every day. I have been painting still life, landscapes, and architecture because they are my passion. Learning something new is a challenge but it’s life changing!

I have finally set up my website www.pamelagood.com so I wanted to personally thank you for visiting and ask you to please return and see the new paintings I have posted this month. I so appreciate you and your support of the arts. I will send the next blog in 2023.

Wishing everyone Happy Holidays!

Sincerely,

Pamela Good

Whidbey Island, Washington

Hello,

It snowed this morning, but I know, in my heart, that spring is here. I see all of the beautiful Pansies and Primroses starting to be set out in front of homes and bulbs pushing through the moist soil. It makes me so happy to see our flower friends arriving and just waiting to unravel and open to share their beauty with us.

I have been asked if I sold prints, and well, my answer now is YES! Many of my smaller paintings are available as prints in a variety of sizes, through my website, you can even order them framed. I'm so excited!!!

I recently sold this painting, "Spring is Here" to a very close friend who lives in Walla Walla. Flowers are my passion, and knowing where these lovely Pansies now live gives me so much joy. Next it will be Irises, Daffodils, and Peonies, and then...Sweet Peas..... and....... Zinnias, Dahlias, and ........

I am also working on a series from my time painting in Monet's Garden and have started a Farm to Table Series focused on Whidbey Island. I’ll be visiting the Blues in Walla Walla this week and plan on capturing that beautiful spring landscape, green wheat fields, old and new wineries, and the lovely downtown.

I was fortunate to be accepted to participate in the 2023 Whidbey Island Working Artists Open Studio Tour this summer. I still paint at least 5 days a week and never leave the house without my camera and sketchbook. When I was in high school in NYC, I was accepted into an art program at Forest Hills High School. Every night I worked on my artwork until 11-12pm. I loved it. That is how I feel again.

I am grateful,

Pamela
